A special non-cracking, no odor, white trap wax. This trap wax will dry clear. Recommended for all steel traps used for both land and water trapping. Use in pure form. Excellent for both dryland predator and water sets. Wax is ideal for coilspring and longspring traps. Waxing bodygrips or dogproofs can make the traps too slippery to handle. It is good practice to file the wax off the dog and where the dog meets the pan after the wax dries.
Directions (Handle With Care –Flammable)
-
Use a pot that’s twice the size of the wax you need — fill only halfway.
-
Heat wax to around 230°F. If it starts smoking, it’s too hot — lower the heat!
-
Dip dry, clean traps into the hot wax.
-
Leave them in for about 1 minute — just long enough to look “wet” when you pull them out. If you can see white put them back in. White is an indicator that the wax will be too thick once dried.
-
Hang to dry.
Why Wax Your Traps?
Smooth Operation – Wax helps the trap fire smoothly and quicker.
Rust Protection – It creates a barrier that guards against moisture and rust providing you more years of use.
Odor Shield – A wax coating blocks the steel and dip smell left on the traps.
